If you don't have the usual scientific or mathematical background for an engineering degree, a foundation year is for you. After completing the foundation, which has modules in chemistry, mathematics and physics, you'll proceed to one of our three-year BEng or four-year MEng degrees.
You'll study mathematics, applied dynamics, mechanics of fluids, mechanics of solids, applied thermodynamics, mechanical behaviour of materials, and electrical and electronic engineering. Other topics include computer-controlled systems and mechatronics, and the role of engineering in business and management.
